GFESC Teaching Science is Phenomenal!



This workshop provides teachers with ideas for scientific phenomena that span across grade levels and strategies for engaging students in making sense of phenomena using the three dimensions of the standards: scientific and engineering practices, cross cutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas. Lessons for teachers to take home and use in their classrooms will be provided. *Teachers are encouraged but not required to register for the classroom application cohort that corresponds with this workshop. Members of the cohort will work with the science specialist to integrate the skills and strategies discussed in this workshop during the fall semester. Classroom visits by the specialist, submission of student work samples, and zoom/face to face meetings with other participating teachers will be required. Teachers will be awarded an additional professional development hours for the classroom application portion of this workshop.
