SCSC:VIRTUAL- Theresa Wills K-2 Day 3



Theresa Wills, PhD, is the author of Teaching Math from a Distance, K-12:  A Practical Guide to Rich Remote Instruction.  She is an assistant professor of mathematics education in the School of Education at George Mason University, where she works with inservice mathematics specialists and preservice elementary and secondary teachers.  Theresa has taught synchronous online classes and webinars since 2010 and researchers teaching practices that are adaptable to the online environment.  She is the former classroom teacher and math coach who still volunteers regulary in K-12 classrooms.  

Math routines & tasks that promote student engagement at a distance (K-2).  Participants will explore a math routine to determine how to modify it in an online classroom, then investigate a rich task to determine how to increase mathematical representations in collaborative spaces

These events can be attended individually for one-hour credit PD or multiple events for up to six hours PD credit.  They can be attended in any order.For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived.
