DSC Classroom Management: Going From Good to Great!!



If you are a newish teacher wanting to develop your skills or a seasoned teacher looking to do a re-set, this session is all about HOW to have a pleasant and productive classroom--that you and your students both enjoy being in! Effective classroom management involves many skills and thoughtful planning. Reasonable expectations and consequences are critical to a smoothly run classroom...those alone will not get you there. Excellent classroom management is much more nuanced than that. It is not just a matter of the “right” rules or the perfect set of consequences. Prevention of issues is the name of the game and THAT requires carefully thought out practices and the development of positive, healthy relationships with your students (and even their parents). This session will focus on: A.M session 1.Setting up for success (rules and procedures--what makes them work for you) 2.Effective consequences for misbehavior (fair, manageable, and even flexible) P.M. session 3.HOW TO build positive relationships.
