Illustrative Mathematics is
a new curriculum that meets the rigorous demands of our state standards and
supports the Arkansas Department of Education’s vision to lead the nation in
student-focused education. In this training, we will introduce you to the NEW,
FREE resource called Illustrative Mathematics for grades K-2 and help get you
ready to implement it in your classroom when school begins.
This curriculum provides
* Vertical alignment (K-HS)
* Supports for English
Learners and Students with Disabilities built into the teacher notes
* Student-friendly goals
and learning targets before and after each lesson to focus learning.
* Diagnostic and
End-of-Unit Assessments, as well as Mid-Unit assessments for longer units.
* Instruction Routines that
promote a culture of learning and growth mindset.
