Mathematical Practice #3: Mathematically proficient students can apply the mathematics they know to solve problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace. From manipulatives to equations, this session will highlight critical moments of learning that can be modeled in a variety of ways. Modeling is an integral part of ACT Aspire. Developing modeling skills throughout the grades is critical and needed for algebraic reasoning and high school. This session will equip educators to strengthen their use with manipulatives and modeling skills in blended learning environments. Participants will be notified by email regarding the session time frame, supplies, online resources and Zoom links needed. It is recommended you have a Zoom account. Information on setting up a free Zoom account can be found at https://zoom.us/signin . Recommended devices for this training are desktop computers, laptops, and tablets.
