Getting Started with the 8 EMTPs promotes equity and engagement of all students in meaningful mathematics learning experiences of reasoning and problem solving. This day will begin by looking at 3 of the 8 EMTPs (establish mathematics goals to focus reasoning, implement tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving, and build procedural fluency from conceptual understanding). Next you will have the opportunity to look at ACT Aspire expectations for how students are expected to explain their reasoning on the justification and explanation portion of the test.
