NWAESC(2095)---Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. This virtual training consists of two parts: Pre-work = self-paced online work that must be completed one week prior to the Instructor Led session. You will receive emails from the MHFA Learning Management System (CornerStone) with instructions, links, and reminders. If you have not completed the pre-work, you will not be able to attend the Instructor Led Session. Virtual Instructor Led Training = All participants will join a live Zoom training, from 9:00-2:30, to apply what you have learned and get practical experience using the Mental Health First Aid material. This link will be available once the pre-work is completed. This is a four year certification developed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.
