A learner-centered approach helps support student engagement with critical content in the Pre-AP math classroom. In this virtual workshop, participants examine the characteristics of an engaging, learner-centered mathematics classroom through the lens of the Pre-AP shared principles and mathematics areas of focus. Participants will actively engage in a Pre-AP model lesson focused on building a safe classroom environment where students access critical content through close observation and analysis, higher-order questioning, evidence-based writing, academic conversation, and mathematical argumentation Must attend both sessions.
