AFESC--Diverse Faces for Inclusive Spaces: Am I Culturally Responsive? Virtual Session



In this session, we learn what it means to be culturally responsive. We will discuss specific strategies to engage learners from diverse cultural backgrounds in order to create inclusive learning experiences and classroom environments. 

Participants will:
- Develop an understanding of how to be a culturally responsive educator
- Analyze the impact of commonly used instructional practices regarding race and culture
- Examine literature selections that highlight and celebrate diversity
- Understand how to use literature to expose students to other races and cultures
- Gain new strategies that highlight and celebrate diversity on a regular basis
