Settled in 1810, Arkadelphia was originally known as Blakelytown and has deep roots in entrepreneurship. John Hemphill, the first entrepreneur in town, started off selling salt. Over the years, other entrepreneurs have found success in the Delph. While farming, timber, and education are the three biggest industries impacting the local economy, many successful entrepreneurs call the Delph home.
If you are interested in earning professional development while learning about the impact that entrepreneurs have on a community, then this is the workshop for you! We will hear from local leaders and entrepreneurs, receive a ton of free resources to integrate into your classroom, and acquire information that can be shared with students who may have a desire to be an entrepreneur.
