NAESC Digital Escape Rooms - Part 1 - The Basics
Looking for a way to engage students more deeply with content while on a learning device? If you have ever seen breakout rooms or digital escape rooms and thought they are too complicated for you to pull off, then this is the PD for you. In this professional development you will start off the day working through a teacher-developed digital escape room to get a feel for how they flow. This will be followed by discussions of rigor and interaction with different platforms in a digital environment, as well as the importance of developing a storyline to simplify the creation process. The remainder of the morning session will be dedicated time to practice in the creation of a digital classroom using a provided template. The optional afternoon session will allow teachers to develop their own storyline using their own classroom content and build, with the level of support you require, your own digital escape room lesson or lesson sequence.
Important Session Information:
Temperature will be taken outside the front entrance. All other entrance doors will be locked. If your temperature is 100.4 or higher you will not be allowed to enter. Face masks are required to be worn at all times for participants. (Face masks will NOT be provided by co-op). There will be designated lines/cues in the co-op to ensure social distancing. No snacks, coffee, or candy can be provided, but participants may bring their own. All breaks and lunch will be staggered to reduce traffic flow. Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the co-op. Continuous cleaning and sanitizing of facilities will be conducted throughout the day.
