Each district is required to have at least one licensed registered nurse (employed or contracted) attend an annual professional development related to Arkansas school nursing mandates and practices. This session will provide information on childhood immunizations and COVID-19 vaccines for children and adults, school nursing mandates with recent school/health laws from the 2021 legislative session as well as the school health data from the survey, and training on resiliency building education.
The session is a collaboration between DESE and ADH.
Provider Approval Statement: Arkansas Department of Health is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
The planning committee & faculty attest that no relevant financial, professional, or personal conflict of interest exists, nor was sponsorship of commercial support obtained, in the preparation or presentation of this educational activity.
Completion Requirements: Participants must attend the entire live/in-person portion at one of the education cooperatives or designated sites or must attend the entire online portion with verification through the virtual platform with the course. Participants are required to complete the post assessment evaluation within 7 days of attending the course in www.train.org. If not completed, the participant will be withdrawn from the course and will NOT receive nursing contact hours.
