AFESC--Building Stronger Brains through Stronger Relationships

This session will be held on the campus of Guy-Perkins High School.

Melanie Hogan is a Licensed Master of Social Work and has served as School Social Worker at the Dickson County Schools since 2018. She spent many years in West-Central Arkansas during her adolescent years, attending Dardanelle and Pottsville High Schools. She holds a Bachelors of Social Work from Austin Peay State University and Masters of Social Work with Clinical Focus from the University of Southern California. She is certified in Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma Informed Practice, and Restorative Practice. She has worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor and Foster Care Therapist. She serves on the Child Advocacy Center Board of Tennessee and the University of Southern California Social Work Leadership Board.

Melanie's passion for children and wanting to work with educators comes from her own childhood trauma. She will be sharing her knowledge, skills, and personal experiences on how we each can make an impact every day by building stronger relationships with each other, students, and their families.
