Designed especially by our Early Career Educator Mentoring program for 3rd year teachers.
Culturally responsive teaching has been proven to increase student engagement and lead to better learning outcomes. But how do you do get started? This two-day session will give you the foundation you need to get started in your classroom.
Learning outcomes include:
*the neuroscience behind culturally responsive teaching
*the importance of relationships and the social-emotional climate in every classroom
*how culture affects how your brain processes information
*moving from a deficit mindset to a asset-based mindset
Every participant will receive a copy of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain by Zaretta Hammond.
This is day 1 of a two-day session. Day 2 will be on February 2.
All costs are covered by the Recruitment and Retention grant.
