SCSC - Magnolia AR Math QuEST: Ambitious Teaching Implementation Phase 1 (1 Day)



This is a follow-up session to promote peer collaboration and reinforce learning from the Introduction to Ambitious Teaching PD. Participants will provide evidence of implementation of the effective teaching practices and standards for mathematical practice (artifacts such as tasks and student work), analyze peer evidence, and provide feedback. Further exploration of Principles to Action, 21st Century Skills, and growth mindset will deepen understanding of essential elements to increase student achievement.  TESS Components addressed include1A, 1C, 1E, 1F, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 4A, 4E



Important Session Information:


STATE SPONSORED This training will be housed by the Magnolia School District in the Ninth Grade Large Lab. We will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. Please bring your Taking Action Book, notes from the summer training, and artifacts from the lesson that your building Instructional Facilitator observed. You will need four copies of the lesson plan, four copies of your reflection notes, and student work that represents a variety of student problem solving approaches.   For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks). Participants are not allowed to bring guests (such as children or spouses) to any event.
