ESOL Coordinators meet quarterly to collaborate and discuss current issues, policies, updates, significant trends related to ESOL Programming and EL services. Meetings are facilitated by the DESE Central Region EL Specialist. The sessions are designed as an added layer of support for districts in ensuring they are staying up to date and meeting federal and state guidelines/requirements so that English Learners can participate meaningfully and equally in educational programs and services. In addition to this, ESOL Coordinators network to support one another, share ideas, share best practices and brainstorm barriers to providing the best educational experiences for students.
