This workshop is designed for coaches, physical educators, school nurses, athletics administrators, and anyone who works with kids in sports and recreation. Topics will include contemporary concussion management, heat illness prevention and management, cervical spine injury management, communicable disease in the sport setting, and a session on "what's new in sports medicine." One of the "what's new" sessions will be an overview of the "SHRed Injuries Basketball" neuromuscular training warm-up program, which has been shown to reduce ankle and knee injury rates by 36% in youth basketball. This content has been approved by the Arkansas Activities Association.
