SE Supporting Homeless Students – The McKinney-Vento Act: Identification and Services

McKinney-Vento is a federal law that serves students who are identified to be experiencing homelessness. As a state, Arkansas has been severely under identified when it comes to students and families who are experiencing homelessness. If the students are not identified, they cannot receive services that they are entitled to. This training will provide an overview of how homelessness is defined federally, the services that the McKinney-Vento Law includes, and best practices for districts and communities to improve identification of students and families that experience homelessness.

Presenter: Jessica Hickman
