GFESC Secondary Literacy: Support for the Struggling Reader
Secondary Literacy: Support for the Struggling Reader is a professional development workshop designed to provide educators of students in grades 7-12 the tools to identify and remediate the deficit areas that are resulting in below grade level reading comprehension. This day will include an overview of the science of reading, practice working with the screeners and diagnostic assessments that will allow us to identify missing foundational reading skills, information and instructional practices to address remediating the struggling students, and a discussion about pulling it all together using the RTI process.
