GFESC Secondary Literacy PLC Days 1 and 2
Secondary Literacy PLC Day 1 will include an overview of the PLC process and its connection to RTI, a close look at how we identify essential standards followed by time to work through the process (either for the first time or to determine if revisions need to be made if essentials have already been identified), and finally instruction on breaking your essential standards into learning targets followed by work time with support as needed. During day 2 we will continue our look into the PLC process by discussing proficiency scales and assessments followed by work time for each of those elements. It is recommended that secondary ELA teams (grade-level or vertical) attend this training together if possible. Materials that will be required for the workshop days include a laptop or similar device, a copy of your academic standards, and curriculum material that you will use to create assessments.
