GFESC Special Ed for Regular Ed Teachers (PM)
Since the regular education classroom is the starting point for determining the Least Restrictive Environment for all students with disabilities, this training was designed to provide general education teachers with the "basics" of IDEA and Section 504. Both federal laws are reviewed with an emphasis on the importance of the regular ed teacher's participation in the process. FAPE, LRE, IEPs, accommodations & modifications are addressed, along with strategies regular ed teachers can use to support their students who struggle academically and/or behaviorally.
