OUR Youth Mental Health First Aid



This course from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing will cover how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.  The training gives skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to youth ages 12-18 who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.  This virtual training consists of two parts:
Prework: Participants will receive emails from MHFA Connect with instructions, links and reminders to complete pre-work tasks in the MHFA Connect system.  If the pre-work is not completed, attendance is not allowed in the instructor led session. 
Paid for and sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education ARKANSAS AWARE.  



Important Session Information:


A minimum of 5 people is required for the session to be held.  
This course is in-person at OUR.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an international program listed in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).  
Participation for the entirety of the course is required to receive certification.
