ARESC-Word Attack Strategies: Using Syllable Types for Decoding and Encoding



This session will review the six syllable types, syllable division rules, and specific language for guiding students through attacking unknown words. Conversely, utilizing what is known about syllable types to aid in spelling will be explored. Participants will leave with specific instructional strategies and resources.

Participants not under contract with ARESC's Member districts will be charged a fee of $25 per day, or $15 per half day. Payment is required prior to the event session.
