CRESC--Youth Mental Health First Aid



This course will cover how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

Prework: self-paced online work must be completed one week prior to the instructor led session. Emails from MHFA Connect with instructions, links and reminders will be received. If the pre-work is not completed, attendance is not allowed in the instructor led session.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an international program listed in the National Registry of Evidence based Programs and Practices (NREPP).

Participation for the entirety of the course is required to receive certification. (At least 5 people are required for the session to be held)

Nurses will also be required to register through train.org for Nursing Continuing Professional Development hours.

Deadline to register on escWorks is July 28.
