SE Inclusive Practices: The Evolving Role of Special Educators



Participants will explore the data and research driving the inclusive practices movement in Arkansas, illustrating the necessity to rethink our service models and redefining the roles of special educators. Practical tools, strategies, and resources will be provided to guide teams as they design supports for students with disabilities in more inclusive settings.

The books referenced will be Yes We Can! General and Special Educators Collaborating in a Professional Learning Community (Friziellie, Schmidt & Spiller, 2016) and Reimagining Special Education: Using Inclusion as a Framework to Build Equity and Support All Students (Rufo & Causton, 2022) if you would like to purchase them.

Intended Audience: Special and general educators working with students K-12 in any setting, related service providers, special and general education administrators
