GREC - Math Instructional Routines for Student Engagement - K12



Engaging students in meaningful mathematics takes planning.  This session will focus on strategies to improve student engagement.  Participants will explore the eight effective teaching practices for teaching mathematics, learn a variety of strategies an routines to foster greater student engagement and participation, as well as work through a few low floor-high ceiling tasks.  Participants will leave with strategies that can be easily implemented helping to improve both the frequency in which students talk in your math class as well as some resources for implementing tasks that improve student engagement.

 

NOTE: Participant parking, unless handicapped, is in the large lot at the bottom of the stairs. Please be sure to park in the participant parking lot, not the small employee lot located in the middle of the Cooperative buildings.
