Participants will learn about the Stanford History Education
Group’s Reading Like a Historian lessons. This session will provide an overview
of Reading Like a Historian design principles and historical thinking skills
(sourcing, contextualization, and corroboration). It will also address
strategies for modeling historical thinking. The workshop will include
opportunities to engage with Stanford History Education Group materials.
Participants will learn strategies for implementing these resources in their
classrooms.
The content for this
session will be a World History Focus. This is a different session than last
year.
Please notice that 4 hours of Professional Development
Credit will be provided. The times for this session will be 9:00-11:00; one
hour lunch; 12:00-2:00.
Audience: Social Studies teachers grades 5-12.
