DSC High School Genome Hackathon

OBU students will teach your students the process of identifying genes in a sequenced virus genome. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics, programming, or genetics is required. With but a few hours of training, your students will be able to identify and characterize genes in a virus genome. We have worked to align these skills with Science & Engineering Practices, Cross Cutting Concepts & Disciplinary Core Ideas applicable to Arkansas Biology/Chemistry 3 dimensional learning targets. You may bring an entire class to the Hackathon. There will be a cut-off depending on numbers and you would be notified and added to a Wait List, if necessary. Upon Registration, you will be sent a Google form to sign-up student information to ensure adequate resources. If you have additional questions, please email susan.allison@dawsonesc.com.
