NWAESC(2095)---Using Science Notebooks to Make Student Thinking Visible for Grades 3-8

Science notebooks are one of the greatest tools to make student thinking visible and to integrate science, literacy and math in the science classroom. This hands-on session with Presidential Award Winner Cheri DeSoto and the Co-op's STEM and Science Specialists will focus on how to use science notebooks to get students discussing, writing, collecting evidence, and using data to make sense of their learning in authentic ways. Participants will leave this session with a wealth of resources to successfully implement science notebooks in their classrooms. The morning will be spent ""in the classroom"" at the Co-op and then we will transition at lunch to nearby Mt. Kessler to use science notebooks on a fun observation hike! Be sure to wear clothes for outdoors and pack a sack lunch.
