WDMESC: Youth Mental Health First Aid



This groundbreaking course from the National Council for Behavioral Health gives people the tools to identify when someone might be struggling with a mental health or substance use problem and to connect them with appropriate support and resources when necessary. This in-person course prepares adults to help youth ages 12-18. Paid for and sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education ARKANSAS AWARE. Nurses attending course will be required to register for the course through www.train.org as well to receive CEUs.
All participants must complete required pre-coursework prior to start of session to attend. Information on this will be sent to participants via email prior to the date of the session.
Important Session Information: A minimum of 5 people is required for the session to be held. This course is in-person at Wilbur D Mills ESC.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an international program listed in the National Registry of Evidence- based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
Participation for the entirety of the course is required to receive certification.
Course meets ADE Suicide PD requirement.
