Description: This 3-day workshop is for those who hold the 528 Computer Science Teacher Certification, 5014 or 5016 Computer Science Approval Code, or have completed the 30-hr ADE approved professional development. This workshop aligns with the year 2 curriculum standards for artificial intelligence and machine learning. Lectures and demonstrations will cover the history, current state of the art, and future of the field of AI. Over the course of the workshop, participants will receive an overview of the field, including the various academic disciplines that have influenced it, the history of its conception and development, and the current state of the art. Participants will also have the opportunity to build and explore several different AI paradigms, including search algorithms and machine learning classification and prediction algorithms. We will also look at AI within its current social and professional contexts to better understand the ways in which it is being applied, how it impacts our society and the ethics of its development and use.
