Visual supports and classroom routines are scaffolds used to increase student independence, reduce off task behavior, and provide support for processing information. Participants will learn how to maximize the use of visual supports and classroom routines in their classroom and how implementation can facilitate student achievement. In partnership with Arkansas R.I.S.E. experts, Easter seals has created the first in a series of trainings to support special educators of students with complex learning needs as they work toward proficiency in implementing the Science of Reading. This first session focuses on explicit instruction to support Oral Language skills. Participants will gain a variety of strategies on the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and visual supports to engage all students in oral language routines. Intended Audience: Special educators working with students K-5 in any setting, special educators supporting students complex learning needs K-12, Speech-Language Pathologists, paraprofessionals, special education administrators, building administrators who support special education programs
