DSC Building a Windmill to Power Cultural Diversity
EPSCoR Grant Funded: William Kampkumba's story "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" inspires students to find life-saving solutions from everyday objects- even from the garbage heap. Teachers will take home a 6th-8th grade level of the book, a 3M Windmill Kit including a minature generator that powers a light bulb-much like William and ways to integrate it into AR Standards for 6-8th grade. This would be a great way to emphasis the ingenuity of people from other countries and diverse ethnic backgrounds to solve their own problems using STEM. Fully hands on! Lunch on your own.
