NWAESC(2095)-Reading Comprehension: Beyond the Skills
After framing reading comprehension within the science of reading, participants will discuss the difference between comprehension skills and strategies. We will determine what we know about reading comprehension and examine the practices we can put in place. Teachers will deepen student comprehension by developing a text-centered lesson focused on the components of the top strands of Scarborough’s Rope. This session is ideal for teachers of 2nd - 6th grade.
