GFESC Astronomy: Eclipse 24
Looking for activities to complement the April 2024 solar eclipse, need training on telescopes, or want to learn about the moon and sun cycles? Local teachers along with the Guy Fenter Educational Coop and UAFS will provide activities related to topics in astronomy. Teachers will participate in activities such as how to make a model of the moon phases, gain experience with telescopes and solar binoculars, learn to identify common constellations through hands-on activities, and experience the night sky in a mobile planetarium. Teachers will leave with lessons, make-and-take models, educational resources, and digital links for additional lessons and ideas. The lessons and activities will be connected to other disciplines such as literacy and math.
