AFESC-Affective Needs of the Gifted
High-ability students may have different social-emotional needs from their peers. Educators need to know how to support gifted students in their social-emotional learning in order to help students be successful in academics, as well as life. This 6-hour session will address areas such as peer relationships, perfectionism, asynchronous development, post-secondary planning, the gifted underachiever, the outcast syndrome, metacognition, self-regulation, and more. This session is designed to help all educators understand the high-achieving students that are in all of your classes on a deeper level and how to support them academically, and socially/emotionally.
Important Session Information:
Current educators in Arch Ford PD Consortium districts may attend the session for free. All others will be required to pay the session fee on the day of the session. Arch Ford educators receive priority for seats in a session.
