AFESC-Proficiency Scales
In these sessions, participants will explore the nature of proficiency and learn how teachers can simultaneously support, develop, and evaluate a student's proficiency. The session will focus on the significance of proficiency-based learning targets in the assessment process and provide examples of proficiency-focused assessments and instruction. Participants will reflect on how teachers can use this lens to develop student agency, competence, and efficacy. By the end of the session, participants will better understand their essential role in supporting student proficiency.
