High Leverage Practices (HLP) in combination with evidence-based instruction (EBI) focuses on enhancing key skills for improving student outcomes through collaboration, assessment, and support in both academic and behavioral areas. General Education and Special Education teachers will leave this experience equipped and ready to implement HLP and EBI practices along with instructional strategies based on Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This three day professional development opportunity will focus on:
·Collaboration: Strengthening the ability to work effectively with professionals, families, and stakeholders to support student learning.
·Assessment: Developing a comprehensive understanding of student strengths and needs by utilizing various sources of information and effectively communicating assessment results to design targeted educational programs.
·Social/Emotional and Behavioral Support: Fostering a structured and respectful learning environment, providing constructive feedback, and teaching social behaviors.
·Instruction: Gaining skills to identify and prioritize learning goals, adapt instructional materials, and teach cognitive strategies that promote independent learning. Emphasis is placed on using scaffolded supports and making instructional adjustments based on ongoing analysis of student progress.
