NEA – The Holocaust

Learning about the Holocaust and its lessons has never been more crucial than for

today’s students who in this workshop will learn that this event of global proportions

involved perpetrators, victims, bystanders, beneficiaries, and rescuers not just in

Europe, but elsewhere in the world. As the number of Holocaust survivors decline, so,

too, do opportunities to teach what can happen when apathy and/or ignorance prevail

over knowledge and understanding. Students will confront questions of who was

involved in the Holocaust in what ways. Among the areas of focus are Antisemitism,

Hitler’s Rise to Power, Stages of Terror, War Expansion, Rescue, Resistance, and

Liberation.
