NEA - Utilizing Screening Data for School-Based Identification of Dyslexia K-3



This session is designed to provide an overview of the updates on the legislation, rules, and the screening process for identifying early indicators of risk for dyslexia, as well as, documenting characteristics of dyslexia in the K-3 setting.  In this session, we will examine the current definition of dyslexia, the core principles of dyslexia identification, case studies, and step-by-step procedures for analyzing assessment data from multiple sources. This course will prepare educators to be informed members of the school-based teams making decisions regarding the identification of students exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia for placement in dyslexia intervention programs.
