NEA – Blacksmithing 101



In this workshop you will get your hands dirty and learn the ancient art of blacksmithing!  Participants will forge steel on one hundred fifty-year-old anvils to experience the history of metalworking and get an understanding of what manufacturing was like centuries ago.  Learn how to forge safely and effectively, and get some tips on how to incorporate this into your curriculum.

This workshop is limited to Ag teachers in the NEA Cooperative.  A second day will open if needed. 

Materials required by Participants: Teachers should bring safety glasses, gloves, leather or steel toe shoes.
