OUR MITS Personal Care Paraprofessional Module/RN Training

The Personal Care training class is the required practical training piece (10 hours of the required 40 hours) for paraprofessionals to become certified for the district to bill Medicaid for Personal Care. The training will cover the certification process and everything the district needs to know about Personal Care billing. It is recommended that any RN who will be writing care plans and supervising paras who provide assistance to students with physical dependency needs, also take this training. This class is also beneficial for staff that oversees Medicaid billing and LEA supervisors who need knowledge of Personal Care billing, processes, and paperwork. Current billable Personal Care services include mobility, ambulation, hygiene, bathing, bladder and bowel requirements, eating, and dressing.
