DSC Geo-Float Trip on Lake Ouachita



Join the adventure on a Lake Ouachita Geo-Float as we explore the geology of Arkansas. We will observe various folded and fractured formations, geologic structures, and rock types and analyze their tectonic formations. Content and lessons will be provided enabling participating teachers to take activities, lessons, and information back to the classroom. Teachers will experience hands-on activities using Arkansas rocks, minerals and fossils. This knowledge can be used to construct explanations of geological formations in the Ouachita Mountain Region. Participants will be provided six hours of PD credit, two of which will be Arkansas studies. The workshop will last all day. We will be outside frequently so dress comfortably, bring sunscreen, water bottle & sack lunch. There is a $50 workshop fee for participants outside the Dawson Co-op Consortium.
