SCSC - Lesson Annotation for High Impact Math Instruction

This professional learning session supports teachers in using lesson annotation as a strategic planning tool aligned to the Arkansas Math Learning Walkthrough Look Fors. Participants will learn how to annotate district-adopted HQIM lessons with a focus on grade-level standards, scope and sequence alignment, and instructional rigor. Teachers will plan for purposeful questions, connections across representations (CRA), meaningful student practice, and embedded checks for understanding. By aligning lesson annotations to key walkthrough indicators–structures of learning, math aligned content, instructional practices, student practices, and assessment–educators will be better equipped to design lessons that promote engagement, ownership of learning, and strong evidence of foundational math skills during instruction. TESS components addressed include: 1C, 1D, 1E

Important Session Information:

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium, the fee has been waived.
