SCSC - Kids First- CTE and Academic Strategies

Preparing students for ACT WorkKeys and strengthening literacy skills can happen at the same time. This session will provide educators with practical instructional strategies that align with the Arkansas writing standards with all areas of the ACT WorkKeys assessment. Participants will explore ways to embed workplace reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills into everyday ELA instruction while also using AI tools to create writing prompts, develop rubrics, and assess student work efficiently. Teachers will leave with ready-to-use resources and strategies that help “kill two birds with one stone” by preparing students for WorkKeys success while building stronger readers and writers. TESS components addressed include: 1D, 2E
