OUR Illustrative Mathematics: Curriculum and Instruction Year 1 & 2 (6th - 12th )
Join us for an engaging, hands-on professional learning session designed for math teachers using the Illustrative
Mathematics (IM) curriculum. This PD will deepen teachers’ understanding of the IM design principles, including the focus on conceptual understanding, student discourse, and purposeful problem-based instruction. Participants will explore how lessons are structured, how tasks build across units, and how to maintain the integrity of the curriculum while meeting the needs of all learners. Teachers will collaborate with colleagues to analyze lessons, anticipate student thinking, and plan instructional moves that support access, rigor, and productive struggle. We will also examine effective use of teacher moves, representations, and formative assessment embedded within IM. By the end of the session, teachers will leave with practical strategies, planning tools, and increased confidence to implement Illustrative Mathematics lessons with clarity and impact in their classrooms.
