DSC Utilizing Screening Data for School-Based Identification of Dyslexia in K-2
This session is designed to provide an overview of the updates on the legislation, rules, utilizing the ATLAS Screener and Individual Reading Plans (IRPs) as part of the dyslexia screening process for identifying early indicators of risk for dyslexia, as well as documenting characteristics of dyslexia on the K-2 dyslexia profile sheets. In this session, we will examine the current definition of dyslexia, the core principles of dyslexia identification, case studies, and step-by-step procedures for analyzing assessment data from multiple sources. This session equips educators to serve as knowledgeable members of school-based teams, supporting data-driven decisions in identifying students at risk for reading failure and early indicators of dyslexia for appropriate placement in dyslexia intervention programs.
