WDMESC: Dyslexia Overview for Classroom Teachers



This professional development session provides a foundational understanding of dyslexia, including its characteristics, causes, and impact on reading development. Participants will explore early signs, common misconceptions, and evidence-based instructional strategies to support students with dyslexia in the classroom. The session will also cover accommodations, interventions, and resources to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters success for all learners.

Children will not be allowed in professional development sessions facilitated at the Wilbur D. Mills Education Service Cooperative or in the building where the sessions are located. Attendees with children will be asked to leave.
