DSC Building K-12 Thinking Mathematics Classrooms Day 2
This professional learning will focus on helping K-12 teachers create classrooms that foster deeper mathematical thinking among their students. Peter Lilledahl's book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics (Grades K-12): 14 Teaching Practices for Enhancing Learning, offers strategies for engaging students in meaningful math activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Not only will participants learn about the 7 essential strategies, based on his research, for engaging students in thinking for longer periods, but also about ways to begin setting up classroom conditions that promote mathematical thinking.
Please Note: This advanced training has a prerequisite: either the one-day session Building Thinking Classrooms Day 1 OR Building K-12 Thinking Mathematics Classrooms from a previous year, which should be completed prior to attending.
