AFESC-Power Play: Striking Skills and PE Staples

Workshop Description: Join us for a high-energy, collaborative day designed to sharpen your students' striking abilities and expand your professional "toolbox" of PE resources. This workshop is tailored for K-5 educators, with adaptable strategies for grades 6-12.
Morning Session: Mastering the Strike: The morning is dedicated to hands-on learning through play. We will dive into a variety of fun, high-engagement games focused on striking skills using a wide range of implements. You will leave with practical drills and games that can be immediately implemented in your gym to improve student hand-eye coordination and striking mechanics.
Afternoon Session: The PE Resource Roundup: In the afternoon, the focus shifts to professional collaboration and resource sharing. We will go beyond the games to discuss the "staples" of a successful PE program, including:
Funding & Grants: Tips for securing extra support for your program.
PE Secrets: Tried-and-true management hacks and teaching "secrets" from the field.
Collaborative Exchange: An open forum to share your own favorite resources and learn from your peers
Key Takeaways:
Grade-level specific examples and progressions for K-5 (with 6-12 adaptations).
A diverse collection of striking games and activities.
Access to a shared network of grants, resources, and professional shortcuts.

Let's have fun learning from each other and walk away with the "Power Plays" needed for a successful school year!
